Maisha’s Bright future

MaishaPascal 2011-6-7 021
Dear Jeffrey, Craig, Chris, Molly, Amit, and Microsoft,

Thank you for your generous gift! We want to tell you about Maisha, a nine month-old girl who lives in the city of Goma, a border town in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As an HIV-affected child, Maisha didn’t have an appetite and drank only one feeding bottle of porridge in the morning and evening. She was in the hospital every month and sometimes two times per month, but since she has started coming to the free CAP clinic and receiving treatment, she can drink four feeding bottles per day!

Maisha’s mother is very grateful for the support they receive at CAP; “It has been difficult for me to understand what happened to my daughter, but I realized that it is normal, and we now have a normal life like others. I wish a better future for my daughter and thanks to all the people who are helping this program. My husband is still alive but jobless, and he is struggling with life and trying to help our children. I pray a lot for the better future of my daughter and the rest of my family.”

Thanks to committed supporters like you, the CAP clinic provides hundreds of children like Maisha with free medical services that keep them alive and healthy.  The CAP clinic is the only one of its kind in the urban center of Goma. Thank you on behalf of Maisha’s family and all patients and staff at the CAP clinic for your generous support.
